Equipment Upgrade

Pusa Research have recently announced availability of an upgrade to the MK4 printers we use. Prusa MK4 printers can be upgraded to Mk4S and the cost is relatively small. We have now installed the kits on all of our printers.
The promise for this upgrade is significantly faster printing, maintaining quality and improved dimensional accuracy. The MK4S has improved cooling, making overhangs and bridges of better quality. Printing speed is improved by employing a “High Flow” nozzle. The MK4S can be enhanced by installation of an accelerometer that aids printing accuracy and quality by fine tuning existing “Input Shaping” technology in the printer allowing it to more accurately remove “fine artefacts” on the print surface.

If these promises are fulfilled, the deliverable for our customers should be reduced costs and better quality.
